CEMETERY SKYLINE

From Dark Tranquillity, Insomnium / Omnium Gatherum, Amorphis, Dimmu Borgir, and Sentenced come the members of Cemetery Skyline — a Nordic project with an unusually heavyweight lineup, channeling decades of melodic metal into a new, dark, and danceable goth rock universe.

At the forefront we hear Mikael Stanne in a different light than many are used to: here, the focus is on a clean, melancholic vocal style that perfectly suits the band’s cinematic sound. Around him, Markus Vanhala (guitar), Santeri Kallio (keys), Victor Brandt (bass), and Vesa Ranta (drums) build a musical world where the gothic spirit of the ’80s and ’90s meets Nordic tones. Think darkness, huge choruses, and a groove that genuinely belongs on the dance floor.

The band themselves describe their sound as “Nordic Gothic” — melodic, melancholic, and dark rock with clear nods to classic influences like The Sisters of Mercy and Type O Negative, but driven by a modern edge and grounded in massive musical craftsmanship.
