In recent years, Leya has become a cult name on the international underground scene.
In addition to their own recordings, they have collaborated with artists such as Eartheater, Actress, Okay Kaya, Ecco2K, and claire rousay; their work has been featured at the MoMA and Palais de Tokyo, at fashion shows for global brands, in porn, and at leading international festivals. The mixtape Eyeline and their latest album I Forget Everything confirm their ability to constantly push the boundaries of their own language—from intimate chamber music through avant-pop to dark ambient landscapes.

Leya are among the most distinctive voices in contemporary experimental music. The New York duo of harpist Marilu Donovan and violinist and singer Adam Markiewicz creates a sonic world that The Guardian described as “music that sounds both 300 years old and as if from the distant future.” Through the use of alternatively tuned strings, operatic vocals, and a captivating play with dissonance, they transform traditional instruments into a medium for something strange, dreamlike, and ambiguous—music that moves between ecstasy and unease.
